Monique Kibonge

Monique Kibonge is IntraHealth International's accounting and payroll coordinator. She is a published poet and an advocate for girls’ education in her native Democratic Republic of Congo, where she works with local NGOs to help young girls to go to school near their homes, which lessens their likelihood of being sexually assaulted. She also trained key players in negotiation skills to stop war in Congo.

She has worked for various United Nations agencies, including the United Nations Development Programme, United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, United Nations Fund for Population Activities, United Nations Children's Fund, and more. She was the deputy team leader for ILLCE, a nonprofit working to bring peace in DRC in collaboration with the Woodrow Wilson Center and the IRENE institute in Paris.
